Location
Located only a 10-minute drive from Playa Jobos (Jobos Beach), the Coffee Spot is a community-centered coastal retreat for a quick cup of coffee and a treat! It is located off Route 110, in a small neighborhood near an industrial complex, but don’t let that keep you from stopping through. It is obvious that this is a local favorite for un cafecito.
Ambience
The Coffee Spot has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is extremely limited, with room for only 6 to 8 guests. The advantage of sitting outside, if you can catch any availability, is that you are able to feel the warmth of the sun and the coastal breeze on your skin while you settle in with a nice cup of coffee. The indoor seating is a mix of couches, tables, and chairs, in true café fashion. The walls feature photos of the staff and community, a community board, and whimsical paintings. Although it is indoors, it still feels very ‘beachy’ and bright.
Service
Employees were friendly and service was quick. They were a small but very efficeint staff.
Menu Variety
There were so many coffee options, and it was lovely! They had specialty drinks, hot drinks, frozen drinks, espresso, ristretto, lattes, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and the list goes on. The item descriptions in the menu were very thorough, and most coffees were offered in three sizes. I experienced a little bit of analysis paralysis. They also have breakfast plates, sandwiches, wraps, and sweet breakfast staples. Something that I really ejoyed about the menu were the stories behind the names of the specialty drinks.
Presentation
Food and drinks are presented simply, letting the quality speak for itself. Ceramic mugs. Clean white plates.
Food
I ordered one of their specialty drinks called ‘El Jibarito.’ Caramel, cinnamon, coconut, Irish cream, and espresso were all woven together into a masterpiece. The description mentioned that it hinted at the nostalgia of coquito, so that sold me. The drink was served at the perfect temperature, and it was so rich that I just took my time.
I also ordered the Chicken Crescendo and the Soneta sandwiches, which came alongside plantain chips. Both were served on gluten-free bread without hesitation, a small but meaningful detail for those who travel with dietary restrictions. The bread was light, however, in true gluten-free fashion, it doesn’t hold up well to moisture and the sandwiches were extremely juicy. It still tasted amazing and was a hearty yet light way to start my day before surfing.

The food and beverages were priced fairly and portion sizes were larger than most cafes. Worth it. A calm and flavorful way to start a beach day.
